Graphic design students from Churchland High School visited Hackworth to learn more about real world applications in the print industry. Churchland art teacher Martin Burke brought the students to tour our facility and experience a working print shop.
President Charlie Hackworth spoke with the students about how Hackworth has evolved from a reprographics firm providing blueprints to a full-fledged digital operation that includes printing of business cards, posters, banners, signs, vehicle wraps and more.
Mr. Burke had this to say about their visit:
“Our field trip to Hackworth was AWESOME! My students and I are still talking about the large printers and wall size graphics!!! And everyone was so warm and friendly and generous with their time! Thank YOU for arranging our tour and for being so hospitable! I hope you will consider allowing my future graphic design classes to “stop by” for a visit and see all the amazing work you all are doing!”
Churchland High School is public school in the City of Portsmouth, VA. The current or “new” Churchland High School opened on Monday, January 6. 1992. This building, located at 4301 Cedar Lane, replaced former schools that had occupied several sites in Churchland since 1799. The school has seen several name changes.
