Charles was raised in Chesapeake, VA. He graduated from Indian River High School and received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Old Dominion University (ODU). Currently he serves as a trustee on the Old Dominion University Athletic Foundation, as an advisory board member on the Great Bridge Battlefield Foundation and as a board member for Greenbrier Christian Academy. In the past Charles has served on the boards of the YMCA Greenbrier North and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In the 1980’s he began his career in the reprographics business as a Night Shift Supervisor for Engineering Media inc. and moved on to managerial roles for Outer Banks Blueprint and Pro Blue. Since 1991, Charles has been Vice President at Hackworth where he oversees the day to day operations which include sales teams management, vendor relationships, personnel management, print production and setting company policies.

Charles has been married for over 25 years to Wendy, the love of his life, and together they have raised two great kids. He currently attends Liberty Baptist Church where he serves as Usher Team Leader for the Chesapeake Campus. In the past, he taught bible study for elementary and middle school students. He love sports, especially basketball, and coached for several years with the YMCA, Chesapeake Parks & Recreation and at Greenbrier Christian Academy. He also coached USSSA baseball for 5 years with the Chesapeake Crush organization. He enjoys college sports and is a big supporter of ODU basketball, football and baseball (Go Monarchs!). Charles enjoys the water whether its the pool, the beach, jet ski, boating or swimming and loves to vacation and travel with his family.
